UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre is involved in the implementation of the INSPIRE directive. We provide support and advice to local authorities to meet their INSPIRE obligations related to open access to data.
INSPIRE stands for INfrastructure forSPatial InfoRmation in Europe. INSPIRE directive is a set of technical, organisational and legal measures better facilitating public access to spatial information across Europe. It supports policymakers in taking rational decisions and actions which may have impact on the environment.
INSPIRE is based on the infrastructures for spatial information established and operated by the member states of the European Union. They include geoportals which allow for discovery and viewing of harmonized spatial data through web services, catalog services and metadata. National geoportal in Poland is avaiable under the link: www.geoportal.gov.pl.
