UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre is the national coordinator of the GLOBE Program in Poland.

The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program in our country is implemented under the agreement between the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Poland and the American National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) signed on 22 April 1997.

GLOBE Program gives a chance to conduct real, hands-on science about local environment and put it in a global perspective. Its mission is to improve research skills among students and promote scientific research methods in environmental studies. The Program provides the basis for making science education more attractive and motivating for young people.

The GLOBE Program:

- provides access to ready-to-use educational materials and ideas for educational activities,
- offers practical workshops and trainings for teachers,
- builds network of teachers from all around Poland focused on exchanging experience and ideas,
- improves didactical knowledge and skills of science teachers.
