UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre take actions supporting digital skills development. We promote use of ICT for education and GIS for public administration.

We always search for new applications of digital technologies in our projects. We not only look for these applications, but also find them and disseminate. While working with teachers we promote inquiry based science education (IBSE) approach. We give practical examples on how to use environmental data from different resources and geoinformation tools to make science lessons more attractive for students. In cooperation with public administration we focus on spatial information applications supporting statutory tasks. We organize GIS trainings for public administration staff, promoting use of free and open geospatial software.

We are the partner of the Polish Broad Alliance for Digital Skills (since 2014) – non-formal association of different institutions, organizations and companies putting a lot of effort into promoting open digital education and effective use of digital technologies.
