PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY

Dear Sir / Madam,

The regulations of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free transfer of such data and on the repeal of Directive 95/46/WE (RODO) apply as of May 25, 2018. As an organization committed to implementing statutory obligations, we acquire and process personal data, which are stored in a dedicated database.

In connection with the above, we provide you with the essential information related to the processing of personal data, which are collected and processed by the Centre for Environmental Information UNEP/GRID-Warszawa, Department of the National Foundation for Environmental Protection (UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre) whilst implementing statutory activities:

  1.   2. Your personal data are processed on the basis of art. 6 par. 1 (f) RODO, i.e., based on the prerequisite of processing for legally justified purposes related to implementation of the Administrator's statutory activities, as well as within the expressed consent to the processing of personal data in accordance with art. 6 par. 1 (a).

  3. Your personal data will be processed:

    1. as part of educational activities associated with Administrator's statutory obligations in regard to environmental protection, environmental education, geoinformation education, e.g., when sending a newsletter, e-mails informing about projects or a request to joining a project, participating in a competition or campaign – until we receive your objection to the processing of personal data in this respect,

    2. with regard to the owned by the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre electronic services which we provide, e.g., in relation to the Internet or mobile applications, including setting up and managing an account or accessing accounts for these applications, and providing services to these accounts – until we receive your objection to the processing of personal data in this respect,

    3. as part of the projects in which we operate on behalf of, and for the benefit of third parties (e.g., public administration bodies, European funds managers and other entities financing our statutory activities under subsidies, etc.) based on separate declarations regarding the processing of personal data required for the purpose of these projects in terms of reporting obligations, and similar purposes,

    4. whilst handling requests that are sent to the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre (e.g., via the contact form or via e-mail).

  4. In connection with the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights:

    1. to requesting from Administrator an access to your personal data,

    2. to demanding from the Administrator deletion of your personal data – if it is in accordance with separate legal provisions,

    3. to objecting to the processing of your personal data,

    4. to filing a complaint to supervisory body regarding the personal data protection regulations' compliance,

    5. to demanding from the Administrator correcting of your personal data,

    6. to demanding from the Administrator limited processing of your personal data.

  5. In addition, we inform you that the voluntary consent to the personal data processing entails your right to withdraw your consent to the processing of data at any time, by sending an e-mail to the Administrator's address, which does not affect the lawfulness of processing made on the basis of consent before withdrawing.

  6. We will store your data for the archiving purposes and to ensure accountability, meaning our ability to demonstrate that we meet our obligations under the law. We will keep these data for a period during which the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre is obliged to safeguard data or documents containing them, in order to document the fulfillment of legal obligations enabling public authorities to control the fulfillment.

  7. All information constituting personal data is treated with a due confidence and protected against unauthorized disclosure to third parties. This means, that your personal data will not be transferred to other entities, nor will they be used for marketing purposes unless separate consent is given.
