Agricultural Advisor, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Katarzyna Kowalczewska works at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the position of agricultural advisor in the agricultural section. She deals with policies as well as market and trade developments in the field of agriculture, nature and food quality.

She has graduated from Wageningen University (Environmental Sciences) and Warsaw Agricultural University (Interfaculty Studies on Environmental Protection). In the past, she worked at the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development being involved in analyses of the reforms of the CAP and changes in agricultural sector due to various EU policies and global challenges. She was seconded to the European Commission, DG for Climate Action where she was responsible for actions related to mainstreaming climate objectives in the EU’s rural development programmes, communicating of the Commission’s proposal on Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) and LIFE climate action sub-programme.

She has an interest in research on policy-science interface, knowledge production systems and new role of science in policy making in the fields of nature conservation, climate change and agriculture.
